“Reimagining Retirement: Holistic Cognitive Health,” a three-part virtual learning series hosted by AROHE and Fidelity Investments,® explores the social, psychological, and emotional aspects of transitioning to, and living in, retirement. A speaker series that explores a comprehensive approach to cognitive well-being in retirement. From the science of memory and forgetting to strategies for navigating transitional phases, each session is designed to offer valuable insights into maintaining cognitive health. The series will conclude with a panel of retirees sharing personal stories and tips for managing cognitive wellness, fostering a supportive and informed community around aging. The series is geared toward faculty and staff in higher education who are contemplating retirement or who are already retired and is designed to help attendees to clarify their goals and understand the changes that occur during life’s next chapter.

Dr. Katie Gilstrap, Associate Professor in the School of Business at VCU, brings her expertise in Marketing Strategy, Consumer Insights, and Market Development to the discussion.

Join moderator Dr. Gigi Amateau, Assistant Professor in the Department of Gerontology at Virginia Commonwealth University, and a panel of AROHE members as they share practical tips and lived experiences on navigating cognitive health in later life.

Dr. Amateau brings her expertise in the importance of narrative practices, trauma-informed approaches, and social connection, offering a lens through which to explore cognitive health. The panelists will discuss their journeys and provide actionable strategies to support lifelong mental vitality.
