North Star Committees 

The North Star Committees guide AROHE, ensuring the organization remains aligned with its mission, vision, and strategic priorities. This committee plays a crucial role in shaping the direction of AROHE by identifying key opportunities for growth, innovation, and sustainability.


Finance and Foundation Relations

The Finance and Foundation Relations Committee oversees initiatives crucial to AROHE's budget, financial policies, dues, sponsorships and grants.

Marketing & Communications

The Marketing & Communications Committee oversees the AROHE Matters e-newsletter, website, e-announcements, discussion forum, and other communications.

Research & Education

The Research and Education Committee oversees projects such as the AROHE Briefs,  the AROHE Start-Up and Development Kit and events such as webinars.

Membership & Constituents

The Membership & Constituents Committee focuses on member categories, management, and coordinates efforts to recruit and retain members.

Strategic Action Committees

The Strategic Action Committees support AROHE’s mission by addressing key organizational needs and initiatives. While these committees do not meet regularly, their contributions are essential to the organization’s operations, governance, and growth. Each committee focuses on a specific area of importance, providing expertise, recommendations, and support to ensure AROHE’s continued success.

The Bylaws and Governance Committee engages as necessary to define and revise AROHE’s bylaws.

The Conference Planning Committee plans the bi-yearly member conference.

The Travel Insitute is planning to offer travel opportunities for retired faculty and staff.

Nominations and Elections

The Nominations and Elections Committee seeks nominees and oversees the voting process for elected board members.

Executive Committee


The Executive Committee serves as AROHE's leadership team, providing strategic direction, governance oversight, and operational support to ensure the organization's success. Composed of key officers, this committee facilitates decision-making between board meetings and ensures continuity in leadership.
