What does consulting include?

A consultation begins with a conversation to identify the organization’s needs and desired outcomes. Then the consultant will propose the optimal plan to meet the identified goals. Consultations can be completed by telephone or video conference, or can include site visits. Consultants can conduct surveys, interview stakeholders, make presentations to administrators and/or write formal reports.

"For more than two years, the UC Riverside Emeriti and Retirees’ Associations tried in vain to obtain funding for a professionally-staffed retiree center. Then an AROHE consultant gave a convincing presentation to UCR’s senior administrators, emphasizing a center’s role in creating a culture of philanthropy among emeriti and retirees. The campus subsequently funded a part-time director. Without the presentation, we would still be asking for funding.
