The fifth AROHE International Conference will offer networking opportunities and resources for those involved with supporting and creating programs for retired faculty and staff in higher education.

The 2010 AROHE conference will:

  • Present recent trends in higher education retiree organizations
  • Offer networking contacts and resources to support retired faculty and staff endeavors on college campuses
  • Host expert speakers on successful and healthy aging and new retirement models
  • Demonstrate and share best practices, creative solutions, and discuss issues and answers

ABOUT THE USDAN CENTER

The Usdan University Center at Wesleyan University is a focal point of activity and central programming space for the campus community.  It provides a comfortable gathering place for students, staff, faculty, alumni, and visitors and plays a significant role in enhancing the sense of community on campus.  Programs in the Usdan Center foster the intellectual exchange between students, faculty, staff, and alumni.  Services in Usdan include Campus Dining by Bon Appetit, a Box Office, Cardinal Technologies Store, Post office (WesStation), Cardinal Print and Copy, the Wesleyan Student Assembly, and Usdan Administration.

ACCOMMODATIONS

Accommodations are available at The Inn at Middletown, only a few minutes away from the AROHE Conference: www.innatmiddletown.com.  Please mention that you are attending the AROHE Conference for the special $140/night discount.

The Rocky Hill Marriott, about 10 minutes away from the AROHE Conference site, also has a special AROHE rate: $135/night: www.marriott.com.

Shuttle transportation between the hotels and the AROHE Conference site at the Usdan Center on the Wesleyan University campus will be available daily.

TRANSPORTATION

Middletown is a two-hour drive from either Boston or New York City and is about a 40-minute drive from Bradley International Airport (BDL), located in Windsor Locks, Connecticut.

Bradley International is the airport of choice for the trip to Middletown: www.bradleyairport.com.  It serves Hartford, Connecticut, and Springfield, Massachusetts.
